RAISING YOUR CHILDREN
Parents teach more by example than by words. Reading parents have reading children; achieving parents have achieving children.

Finding Things
FINDING A MISSING PERSON
When looking for a missing person, remember that children usually go to a lower elevation. First-time runaways usually take off with a friend.

Weather
BARAK'S OTHER WEATHER MEGARULE
Expect fair weather for at least 12 more hours if you see a red sky at night, bees swarming, a gray morning sky, very high clouds, a late-afternoon rainbow, steadily rising camp smoke, morning mist rising from mountain ravines, a sky full of stars, a sea that appears darker than the sky at dawn, or a large number of bats flying in the early evening.

Sleep
CHANGING YOUR SLEEP SCHEDULE
It is easier to shift your regular bedtime to a later hour than an earlier hour. It's hard to go to sleep 30 to 60 minutes earlier per night, while you can easily stay up 60 to 90 minutes later.

SPOTTING A LEFT-HANDER
If you can spot even one right-to-left stroke in a handwriting sample, it was almost certainly written with the left hand. This does not apply to writing that reads right-to-left, such as Hebrew.

GIVING ADVICE TO A FRIEND
Nine out of ten times when a friend is discussing a problem, he or she is not looking for a solution from you. Listen carefully. It is only ten percent who actually need help. The rest just need to be heard and have an assurance that you stand by them.
