As a rough estimate of how well hydrated a person is, or as one indicator of high sugar level in a diabetic, look at his or her urine. The darker the color, the higher the specific gravity, the greater the concentration of solutes, and the less hydrated the person is.

Climbing
ESTIMATING HEIGHT
The rate at which an object falls is independent of how fast it is traveling laterally. To determine the height in feet of a slope, throw a rock out level and time its fall. Square the number of seconds it takes the object to land, then multiply by 16. This will be your height in feet above the landing site.
