Photography
USING FLASH
Amateur photographers typically use flash in dimly-lit areas and no flash in brighly-lit areas. Professional photographers often do the opposite, so the lighting is more uniform across the whole scene.

RECOVERING FROM A BRAIN INJURY
As a general rule of thumb, the faster you recover (from a brain injury) the better your recovery will be. G. Michael Lemole Jr., MD, a leading authority on skull base surgery and section chief of neurosurgery at the University Medical Center, Tucson, Arizona after operating on U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords

Politics
VERY FEW LIBERALS ARE INTERVIEWED
When interviewing guests or speaking of people in the news, the media/news will often label those people as "conservative", but almost never is anyone labeled "liberal".

Speaking
LOOK FOR THE EXIT SIGN
When giving a speech in a public setting, speak directly to the red glowing exit sign. It's generally at the back of the auditorium/conference room. It's up high and easy to find. Plus you won't be distracted by looking in to the face of an audience member.

Management
PREDICTING FAILURE OR SUCCESS.
Whether you think you can or you can't, your right. Henry Ford is credited with saying it but it's still a good rule today. We have a tendency to do things that would confirm our position of do ability. So, if it's something important that has to be done, assign it to someone that thinks it can be done.

RESTORING A CAR FOR DRIVING OR INVESTMEN
Cars restored for the pleasure vs. the investment value, are much quicker to restore, and cheaper. . . . and if the grand child spills his Coke in the back seat,. . . No meltdown. Decide on this prior to the restoration.

The Mind
LIVE AS IF YOU ARE ON A STAGE
Anytime we are not alone, or are in a public place, consider our actions being captured on someone's smart phone, a surveillance or security camera. So, it's important to not do anything that we'd be embarrassed by

Travel
REJECTING THE FIRST HOTEL ROOM
When you check into a hotel, the front desk will give you the worst room they can get away with. (Because guests who check in later might be pickier than you.) So when you get the key, leave your bags and go inspect the room. Regardless of how the room looks, return to the desk and ask if they have anything else. 9 times out of 10, a better room will magically be available.

CHILDREN IN RESTAURANTS
Don't take a table in a restaurant that's adjacent to any children under 12. They're a lot louder up close than they seem when you walk in the door. Restaurants know this, but they'll always try to put you at those tables because they're unpopular.
