APOLOGIZING
A quick apology difuses most of a tense situation. Even if the person is being unreasonable, it is best to start explaining yourself only after they've calmed down.

"SAY CHEESE!" NOT!!
Photo takers commonly ask their subjects to "Say Cheese!" so that they would be smiling when the picture is taken. I've asked professional photographers from around the world if there might be a better word to use than "Cheese." I'm told that for adults, "Whiskey" works and for kids, "Key" creates a more natural smile with the lips. Try saying "Cheese" slowly and feel and see how your lips look. Then say "Whiskey" or "Key." What would you prefer?

HYPNAGOGIA
Sleeping on your back can cause hypnagogia, a state between consciousness and sleep where you can experience sleep paralysis and vivid hallucinations. In most cases, this can be very frightening.

Few things in nature are evenly spaced. When building signal fires for rescue, create 3 fires spaced evenly apart for the best chance of attracting the human eye.
