THE BLUE DUCK
To get a layout approved by your boss, put something ridiculous in the design (aka a 'blue duck'). When he says 'I think we can improve this if we take out the blue duck' act like he's the second coming of David Ogilvy and commend him on his sharp sense of marketing. It's a guarantee he'll sign-off on it. Especially after he 'fixed' it.

Your reflexes won't get faster, your skills will improve at a decreasing rate, so every 15 pounds of Bad Hockey Player you can lose is a huge gain. Try it.

When staying in a hotel use the side of bed that does not have the phone. The mattress will be firmer and less used.

MEASURING WATTAGE OF YOUR MICROWAVE OVEN
If a cup of ice-cold water in a glass boils in less than 2 minutes, your oven is 1000 watts or more. If it boils in 2,5 minutes, it's 800 watts or more. If water boils in 3 minutes, it is an average wattage oven 650 to 700 approx. If it boils in more than 3 minutes, it is a low wattage oven, 300 to 500 watts.
