MAINTAINING AND REPAIRING YOUR HEDGE
If you want to be prepared for fixing your hedge when one of the bushes needs replacing, don’t wait until it happens. If you’re just planting the hedge, plant several “spares”, with sun able to get to them on all sides. Then, when one needs replacing, and it will happen, you have a great replacement even if it’s the end bush. Don’t forget to trim them when ever you trim the main hedge. If it’s an established hedge, buy some replacements now, fertilize and water them to get them up to size as quickly as possible so that you can keep your hedge looking uniform.

WHEN SEQUENCING TO FINAL
It takes ten to beat a straight-in. It doesn't matter if it's a Cessna 172 and a Lear jet, if the Cessna is on final and the Lear jet isn't, if the Lear jet isn't ten miles closer to the airport, he's going to follow the Cessna.

NEED AN EXTRA 5 MILES ON FINAL?
A loop will get you 5, every time. If you have two guys stacked on final (both same distance from the runway) give the guy that's at the higher altitude a loop and you'll end up with 5 nautical miles between them when the first guy crosses the landing threshold.
