Flying
FLYING TO HIGHER ALTITUDES
It is inefficient to climb more than ten minutes per hour of estimated time en route. Climbing to the engine's optimum altitude may not be efficient on a particular trip. Unless there are spectacular tailwinds, high-altitude cruise efficiency will be offset by the fuel burned in the climb.

RIDING A HORSE

Management
MAKING A DEADLINE
When faced with a deadline, if you first tackle what MUST be done, then plan to do what SHOULD be done, saving for last what would be NICE to do, you will seldom get past the first category. However, do those same things in reverse order and somehow they will all get done, often with time to spare.
