KEEPING A GUERNSEY COW
A good Guernsey cow will produce more than 1,000 gallons of whole milk and cream a year. This is enough to feed a family of two adults and three children, with ample skimmed milk left over to feed a veal calf, a pig, and a flock of chickens. An additional bonus is more than 14 tons of manure for the spreading.

When stuffed tarantulas are displayed in a glass case, two out of four people will find them interesting. One person will refuse to look and one will want to inspect them closely. All will recoil at the idea of the glass top being removed.
