Body Rules
UNSTITCH YOUR SIDE
If you're like most people, when you run, you exhale as your right foot hits the ground. This puts downward pressure on your liver (which lives on your right side), which then tugs at the diaphragm and creates a side stitch, according to The Doctors Book of Home Remedies for Men. The fix: Exhale as your left foot strikes the ground.

WINE LIST MARKUPS
Expect wine on the wine list at a restaurant to be two to two and half times more than you would pay for the same bottle at a store. -Eric Asimov, New York Times Wine Critic

TRAVELING SAFELY IN A BAD NEIGHBORHOOD
Keep your head on a swivel. Know your surroundings and your location incase you need to call 911 for help. It sounds cynical but treat everybody and everything as if they are out to hurt you. Walk brisk, not panicked. Know where you are going and how to get there. Stay on medium/high traffic main roads. Avoid long drawn out conversations on your cell phone. If you must listen to your iPod keep it at a very low volume. Look up. Keep your head up and be on alert when you walk
John Broderick, Police Officer, Boston, MA, USA
