CHOOSING A PINEAPPLE
If a pineapple at the market looks green, take a look at the base. If it has begun to turn a little orange or red there, you'll be able to ripen it at home. If there is no break, the pineapple was picked too green. It will have a woody texture and will never be very sweet.

RAPPORT WITH SUBORDINATES
Any employee will be friendly and grateful after you give them a break or do them a favor. The true test of your rapport with an employee is how they react when you have to say say no.

HOW MUCH TO SPEND ON TRANSPORTATION
The total value of all your vehicles (including boats, all-terrain vehicles, etc.) should not equal more than half of your gross income. If you have that much of your money tied up in transportation, your budget for things like rent and food will be stretched way too thin

GYM CLOCKS ARE FAST
A clock in most any gym is usually fast by at least a few minutes, but rarely more than fifteen minutes. This a common "trick" used by the gym staff (often a temporary/low-paying job), admittedly often the result of gym members who end their workout at closing time, but expect to shower and dress afterwards. If the gym has TVs, you can gauge the real time by the transition from one scheduled program to another, or tune to CNN or another station with a "crawl" that includes the current time. Be considerate and time your activities so you're walking out no later than the actual closing time.

HOW MUCH YOU SHOULD SPEND ON A MORTAGAGE

PC COST PER EMPLOYEE
Citrix said it generally had been spending $2,500 to $2,600 to buy and manage a PC for each employee — a figure that analysts said likely is similar at other companies [as of 9/25/2008].

HEIGHT OF A PERSON WITHOUT LEGS.
If a person has had their legs amputated or is unable to stand you can measure their "wing span" for approx correct height. Measure finger tips to finger tips on outstretched arms crossing the tape measure behind their shoulders.
