To find the deepest water in a river, look for the middle of the inverted V of glossy water where the main current flows. At a bend in a river, the water's deepest on the outside of the turn.

As a rule, the average old-car enthusiast can fix up a car to rate about 75 on a scale of 100 points for perfection. Restoring a car as an investment is another matter. A high-dollar car needs to rate a 99 or 100.
