FIXING SERIOUS SOFTWARE BUGS
The cost of fixing a serious software bug increases by ten with each phase of the development cycle. A $10 bug in the requirements phase will cost $100 to fix in the design stage, $1,000 to fix during development, $10,000 to fix during pre-release testing, and $100,000 to fix after it is released.

BUYING A TABLE
A rectangular table is most efficient but a round table is more friendly. On the other hand, round tables take up more space and their linens are more costly.

ENTERING A WOMAN'S PERSONAL SPACE
Unless you're in a very crowded space, don't move closer than four feet to a pretty girl without making eye contact first and receiving a welcoming response. Any closer may seem like you're rushing her.

DESIGNING A CONFERENCE ROOM
Plan on at least 30 square feet per person for a conventional conference room. For classroom situations with theater seating you can get by with half that amount of space.

BALANCING YOUR PORTFOLIO
The amount of your portfolio that should be invested in stocks depends on your age. As you get older, less of your savings should be in the stock market. The conservative rule is to find the right percentage is to subtract your age from 100. A slightly more aggressive approach is to subtract your age from 120.
