FINDING A LOW-PRESSURE SYSTEM
To determine the approximate direction of the center of a low-pressure system, stand with your back to the wind and your arm extended sideways. If you move your arm forward about 45 degrees, you will be pointing to the center of the low. If a low-pressure system is to the west of you, it often means you are in for poor weather.
