RECOVER FROM DIZZINESS FOM DRINKING
One too many drinks left you dizzy? Put your hand on something stable. The part of your ear responsible for balance -- the cupula -- floats in a fluid of the same density as blood. "As alcohol dilutes blood in the cupula, the cupula becomes less dense and rises," says Dr. Schaffer. This confuses your brain. The tactile input from a stable object gives the brain a second opinion, and you feel more in balance. Because the nerves in the hand are so sensitive, this works better than the conventional foot-on-the-floor wisdom.

SPARE TIRE
Check the air pressure on your spare tire every other oil change, just to make sure it has proper amount of air. The last thing you need is a flat spare tire when your regular tire blows out on the highway.

"SAY CHEESE!" NOT!!
Photo takers commonly ask their subjects to "Say Cheese!" so that they would be smiling when the picture is taken. I've asked professional photographers from around the world if there might be a better word to use than "Cheese." I'm told that for adults, "Whiskey" works and for kids, "Key" creates a more natural smile with the lips. Try saying "Cheese" slowly and feel and see how your lips look. Then say "Whiskey" or "Key." What would you prefer?

HOUSING PIGEONS
The inside of a pigeon loft should be low enough so that a pigeon can't fly over your head and small enough so that you can touch all four walls while standing in the middle.

BLUFFING AT POKER
Don't bluff during the first hour of play or when your strong hands are being called. A good time to bluff is after you have won two or three pots in a row.
