MAKING HISTORY
To make a splash as an historian, publish a radically new interpretation of any event from the American Revolution to World War II. Offend as many people as possible, and don't worry about the facts you will need to defend your argument. These will occur to you soon enough.

STALKING DEER
When you are stalking deer (or "still-hunting" as the experts call it), patience and an extremely slow pace are essential. If you travel more than a quarter of a mile in an hour, you are traveling too fast.
J. P. Thomas, still-hunter

DETERMINING YOUR MAXIMUM SWIM SPEED
The maximum speed for a human swimmer is one body length per second. For sprints, all other things being equal, the tall swimmer has a distinct advantage. This is derived from Froude's Law which says that as you increase the length of a watercraft (including the human body) at the waterline, the drag decreases.

SECURE PASSWORD
When selecting a password it is always better to choose a more complex password and write it down on a paper than selecting an password that's easier to remember. A secure password should contain at least one letter, one digit and one other character and shouldn't be shorter than 6-8 characters. If you write the password down, make sure it can't be connected to a username and where it's used. If possible you should write it using shorthand/stenography or as a sentence that reminds you of the password (i.e. Two Cows Walked over one bridge on Their way Home -> 2CsW01_oTwayH).

RULE OF MAGNIFACATION
The more Power you have in your telescopes optics the more difficult it will be to locate and track objects with a manually aimed telescope, it's best to start with lower power and work your way in by adding more power in steps. That way you can relocate the object as the field of view becomes more and more narrow (you are viewing just a tiny piece of sky at 200x) and the movement of the heavens becomes more and more pronounced. (who knew the universe moves so fast!)
