BACKING A TRAILER
Don't use your mirrors. Just turn your body so you're looking out the back window, and everything becomes much easier. Also, make small corrections. Large corrections compound themselves and you'll have to stop & pull forward to straighten out.

The Smith System driver training system recommends a minimum of five (5) seconds between you and the vehicle ahead of you. This is for average passenger vehicles; if you're driving a large passenger van, you should increase it.
