CUTTING FAT AND CALORIES
When using shredded cheese in a recipe, you can usually substitute up to half with no fat cheese without hurting the flavor. The same is true for substituting no fat or 2% milk for whole milk.

UNTANGLING THINGS
When trying to untangle a mess (string, necklace, whatever), look for a loop that doesn't have anything passing through it. When you find one, pull both ends of the loop through whatever is around it, and look for another loop. Removal of all obvious loops will simplify the overall problem, and you may see an easy way to complete the process.
