FURNITURE AND DOGS
Leather is the best upholstery material for a house with dogs. Dirt and hair wipe off easily and good leather won't get scratched.

DETERMINING EFFECTIVENESS OF A CALCIUM TABLET
To see how long a calcium tablet will take to break up in your stomach, place a tablet in a few ounces of room-temperature vinegar and stir vigorously every five minutes or so. The tablet should disintegrate completely in 30 minutes or less. If a tablet remains mostly intact after a half-hour, chances are it won't be of any value to you.

DETERMINING SPEED OF MORSE CODE
A very accurate means of determining the speed at which Morse Code (telegraphy) is being sent is to measure the time in seconds it takes to send the word, "PARIS." Divide this figure into a constant of 51.6. The result will be the telegraphy speed in Words Per Minute. Example: A stopwatch indicates that it took 2.2 seconds to send "PARIS." 51.6 divided by 2.2 equals 23.4 words per minute.

MAKING KOOL-AID
When making kool-aid, first pour the sugar and drink mix into the pitcher, then add a relatively small amount of very hot water. Stir. The hot water will melt the sugar (and help dissovle the mix). Then fill the rest of the pitcher with cold water. You have perfectly dissolved/mixed Kool-Aid on the first pour.

FINDING A GOOD SLOT MACHINE
Slot machines closest to the doors are the most generous. Bar slots pay better than the machines that show apples, oranges, and cherries. Machines with several slots requiring more than one coin per pull pay better.
