When you are canvassing door-to-door, you can optimize your "time per voter" by spending no more than 20 to 30 seconds with each person you meet. Most people will decide whether they like you within that time, and most will want to get back to whatever they were doing when you interrupted them. Using a protractor determine the angle of the corner you are trimming. Calculate (180 minus the angle in degrees) divided by 2 to determine miter cut required.
