USING A TELEPHOTO LENS
The longer the focal length of a lens, the more important it is to hold it steady, especially at slow shutter speeds. You can generally hand hold a camera with a shutter speed that is equal to the reciprocal of the focal length of the lens. Slower speeds require a tripod.
