STRUCTURAL EQUATION MODEL SAMPLE SIZES
When estimating structural equation models (sometimes called "covariance structure" models), you should have at least five observations per estimated parameter (but more is better, with some experts recommending at least 10 observations per parameter).

The Mind
LIVE AS IF YOU ARE ON A STAGE
Anytime we are not alone, or are in a public place, consider our actions being captured on someone's smart phone, a surveillance or security camera. So, it's important to not do anything that we'd be embarrassed by

GAUGING THE SPEED OF ANOTHER BOAT
To gauge the speed of another boat, choose a point on the horizon that is behind the other boat and check how its bow moves relative to this point. If its bow appears to move ahead of the point, the other boat is moving faster than yours; if its bow appears to move backwards, your boat is going faster. If there is no relative movement, and your boats are on intersecting courses, you're in for a collision.

ENTERING A HOLDING PATTERN

TALKING TO REPORTERS
Don't tell a reporter anything you don't want printed. Not that they can't be trusted, but what you tell reporters off the record can lead them to another source who may not be so discreet.

KEEPING UP WITH NEWSPAPERS
If you buy a newspaper, read it as soon as you can and in one sitting if possible. If you postpone reading the paper or interrupt yourself halfway through, you probably won't get back to it.

STOPPING AN AIRPLANE
To determine the speed at which an aircraft begins to hydroplane, multiply the square root of the tire pressure by 9. A light twin-engine plane with a tire pressure of 36 pounds will begin hydroplaning about 54 knots, which means that aerodynamic braking will be the major source of stopping power above that speed when there is standing water on the runway.
