CHECKING A LAWN FOR DRYNESS
One way to check your lawn for dryness is to push a screwdriver into the ground. If it goes down at least 6 inches without stiff resistance, then the soil is probably moist enough. Try this in several areas of your lawn to locate any dry spots.

MAXIMUM BOAT SPEED
The maximum speed of a single hull sailboat is limited by the length of its hull measured at the water line. The formula is Hull Speed = 1.34 * the square root of length of the hull at the waterline. A 20 foot boat cannot go faster than six knots.

CHECK YOUR SPEEDOMETER WITH MILE MARKERS
If you go 60 mph (a mile a minute), then it should take you exactly 1 minute to reach the next mile marker. If it takes you more then a minute, your speedometer is reading low.
