HIRING HELP FOR A PARTY
You need 1 waiter per 10 guests for a buffet supper or 3 waiters per 20 guests for seated dinner service. For receptions or cocktail parties, you will need 1 bartender, 1 kitchen helper (a waiter may double in this function), and 1 waiter per 50 guests. For more than 50 guests, you will need a supervisor as well.

MAKING COFFEE FOR LARGE GROUPS
A one-pound can of regular grind tossed into a commercial urn will brew 50 cups of decent coffee or 60 cups of weak coffee. A pound and a half of regular grind will make 90 cups of decent coffee.
